Die Cut House Cards

Updated: Feb 5, 2021

All Occasion Cards | Die Cutting | Multiple Cards | Stretching Supplies

Welcome to my first blog post. It's been a long time coming. I am not sure what took me so long... maybe fear of technology ...but I finally made the leap. I would expect that this blog will evolve and change as I figure stuff out. I am happy you are here and I hope I can share a little joy, and creative therapy with you.

Today I am sharing a number of easel cards using die cuts, embossing folders, a few background stamps and some sentiments. This project started as most of mine do, watching a Jennifer McGuire video and thinking...I can do that. You can find her inspiration video here. She makes cranking out 50 cards look so easy right?

After a year of a lot of retail therapy and pile of supplies that I have not yet used, I have committed to trying to shop my stash and seeing if I can create without purchasing.

The roof, windows, doors and flower box where from an old die set I had. I am not sure what die set they are from as I didn't have them labeled. I may have picked them up at a craft swap. I suggest to look through your dies. Look at your house builder or scene builder dies or you can modify some Svg files for your Cricut, Silhouette, etc. There is likely something in your stash that could work for you. I used colored vellum behind the windows and then backed them with white CS. The house base is just colored cardstock cut to 4 X 5 1/4. I used some embossing folders and the Hero Arts Bursting with Love Bold Prints Background to change up the look of each card.

The easel card is made with a 8.5 x 11 piece of Cards Stock scored at 5 1/2 and on the front panel of the card at 2 3/4. Then fold back on itself. The House Card front panel is then glued to the 2 3/4 section. This allows for the front of the card to pivot so it can stand up. The sentiment serves as a stopper.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you come by again soon!
