Subtle Background made with small images and bold images that fill up a card.
These cards where created to send to those who appreciate the most. The ones that understand the time and angst given to making the creative choices and making your vision come to fruition.
I started buy stamping a bunch of the paint brush and pencil images from the Arts and Crafts Icons Stamp set on Neenah 80lb CS using Memento black ink. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut out the images then had the outlines curt 2 more times on a piece of CS so be able to stack the images on my cards. I used Jenn Shurkus' technique of attaching the cut images to a piece of craft tape to better manage coloring the images. I used copic markers to color the images. Apologies I didn't keep track of the colors I used.
For the background panel I use a lot of small images from the Arts and Crafts Icons and Arts and Crafts Sentiments. I grouped in a corner of the card panel and stamped with SSS Fog ink using my Misti Stamping tool. I did the same process for the card below using Altenew Misty Morning ink. Once I filled a section I moved the images to another part of the card and repeated until full. Then I pulled some other small images and and stamped using an acrylic block to fill in the spaces a bit better.
I then glued all the images in a staggered vertical layout. I then cut all the excess part of the images hanging off the 4 x 5.25 in panel. This was mounted onto a top Fold 4.25 x 5.5 card base using SSS Fog CS.
The sentiment is from the Arts and Crafts Sentiments stamp set. I stamped this with Versa Fine Onyx black in an heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I cut it out using I think the 2nd or 3rd largest Heart from SSS Nested Round Hearts Die. I stacked it with a few extra die cuts for dimension. It still seemed a bit flat for me so I took some pink ink (Sorry forget the color but was SSS Pawsitively saturated). This helped it stand out a bit. Then used an enamel heart sticker from Doodlebug designs. All the paint on the brushes was given a coating of Glossy accents and then I used a White Gel Pen to give some highlights.
This card used all the same stamp sets as the first but I had the pencils and paints brushes laid out around the sentiment circle. I don't know which card I like best. I cut the sentiment out using one of the smaller circle dies from the Hero Arts Infinity Circle dies then used the next size to cut a piece of yellow glitter CS from Memory Box.
These will be in the mailboxes of some crafty friends very soon.
