Hi Everyone! I am excited to be part of the design team for the Moments in Time release from Simon Says Stamps. This is my first experience working on the team and I had a blast creating 4 cards is the Birthday Dragons Stamp set.

See full release here :SSS

I got to work my copic coloring muscle again! I have color swatches for 3 of the 4 projects. Links to the products I used can be found at the bottom of this post.

Project 1

Copic Color swatches below. I stamped this image with Memento Tuxedo black whisch is alcohol marker friendly. I did a little masking by using cutting out the balloons from masking paper and then stamped a flame image so it looks like it's comes from behind the ballon. I grounded the image with some light gray coloring and used a white gel pen for some highlights. The sentiment is also from the Birthday Dragons stamp set. I used Versa Fine onyx black ink then clear heat embossed. The panel was then cut out using the Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A using the second larges die. This was mounts onto an A2 top folding note card.

Project 2

Copic coloring swatches below. The images and sentiments are also from the Birthday Dragons stamp set. This time since I did not have the dies I cut these images out with my Brother Scan N Cut. I did this 2X so be able to layer the die cuts. The balloon is from another dragon image but I die a little fussy cutting and popped this behind the left image. To create the cloud & Star background I masked off a rectangle on a piece of neenah solar white 110lb CS. I used a cloud stencil ( I think mine was from MFT but I'll link a similar one below). I use started top down - dark to Light. Using C9 Midnight, SSS Pawsitively Saturated ink Royal, Marine then Cadette. I Left the Post it tape on and then took a Star & Dot stencil from a C9 summer camp and used Lunar paste for the gold stars. I aslo addes few older stars with a glitter pen. The sentiment was stamped and clear heat embossed the same as I did in Project 1.

Project 3

I think this card is my favorite of the batch. I just love the pink and orange dragons. I unfortunately misplaced my copic marker swatches for this one. This one was created pretty much the same way as Project 2. This one was done landscape. I used a full sized 4 1/14 X 5 1/2 card stock panel and glued to an A2 card base. Like doing this so you don't see the color bleed through from the markers on the inside of the card. I added a few holographic starts from trinity stamps.

Project 4

Copci color swatches below. For this card I decided to show how you can use part of a stamp set to create a card with a whole different vibe. For this card I used the cake image from the Birthday Dragons stamp set that you see in Project 3. I used memento black ink (copic friendly) then colored with copics. I trimmed the panel down to 4 x 5 1/4 then mounted on an A2 top folding card base. To fill in the blank space I took some Sharpie acrylic markers and free handed the dots/confetti. I think die cut the Happy Birthday using the SSS Happy Birthday Brush Script die. Each layer cut 2X and stacked. The shadow layer is in Spellbinders Splash CS & the HB in white is from Neenah 110lb CS. The sub-sentiment is from SSS Tiny Words.

Well I hope you enjoyed these card projects. I had fund creating them.
